Creator guidance
Disclosure Guide
FTC guidance says creators should clearly disclose material relationships with brands, including paid, affiliate, free product, employment, personal, or family relationships.
When to Disclose
Disclose when you might earn commission, receive payment, receive free or discounted products, work for a brand, have a family relationship, or otherwise have a connection viewers would want to know about.
How to Disclose
Make the disclosure easy to see and understand. Place it with the endorsement itself. Use clear language such as “ad,” “sponsored,” or “I earn commission from this link.” Do not hide it only in a profile page or at the end of a long hashtag list.
Claims
Only describe your real experience and only use claims the business has approved and can support. Do not claim a product cures, treats, guarantees, or delivers results unless the campaign explicitly provides substantiation.
